What do you think counts as unpaid care work and why is it important? It includes domestic tasks, care for people at home and in the community, and collection of fuel and water. It is generally not recognized and often undervalued. Estimates reveal that unpaid care work would constitute 10-50% of GDP if it were assigned a monetary value. Women and girls spend the most time on such work, often restricting their access education and employment.
